C1 Checkpoint

C1 Phase 1 in one sitting: hedging, dense syntax, nominal style, particles, formal links, register, long-form reading and source synthesis.

  • · 30 questions drawn from a bank of 58, across C1 Lessons 1–6, the long-form reading unit and the synthesis unit
  • · Mostly reformulating German and reading long texts — few questions are about endings
  • · Includes a three-source set where the question is what the sources together do and do not show
  • · No hints and no retries — this measures what you can do unaided
  • · About 30 minutes; the reading and synthesis items carry a lot of text
  • · C1 Phase 1 only. Your A1, A2, B1 and B2 progress and results are not affected.
  • · Your practice mastery is not changed. The result is a report, not a reset.
