Real situations, full toolkit
Narration, opinion, passive and relative clauses, reached for under pressure rather than practised one at a time.
Everything here is something you have already met. What is new is having to pick the right tool without being told which lesson you are in.
Explaining what happened → past narration + connectors. Arguing → opinion frame + Vorteil/Nachteil. Describing a process → passive. Describing a thing or person → relative clause.
The most useful thing you can build at B1 is a three-move explanation: what happened, why it mattered, what you want now. Almost every real message is that shape.
Mein Zug hatte Verspätung. Deshalb habe ich den Termin verpasst.
what happened, and the result
Nachdem ich angerufen hatte, war niemand mehr im Büro.
an event placed before another past event
Könnten wir einen neuen Termin vereinbaren?
the request at the end
For an opinion, the same discipline: claim, support, concession. Three sentences beat one long one.
Meiner Meinung nach ist Homeoffice besser.
the claim
Der Vorteil ist, dass man Zeit spart.
the support
Trotzdem fehlen mir die Kollegen.
the concession
Writing one very long sentence with three conjunctions in it.Writing three clear sentences that connect to each other.
B1 is judged on whether the connection is visible, not on sentence length.
