Nothing new. The questions do not say which lesson they came from, which is the only honest test of whether something has been learned.

When a sentence resists you, find the verb and ask where it belongs. Almost every German word-order question is decided by the connector in front of it.

ConnectorVerb goesRelationship

deshalb, trotzdem, daherstraight afterresult, concession
je …to the endproportional (first half)
desto …straight after the comparativeproportional (second half)

Treating obwohl and trotzdem as one word with one grammar.obwohl sends the verb to the end; trotzdem keeps it in position 2.

The same is true of weil against deshalb. Two pairs, one rule.
