Everyday combinations
One sentence, several grammar points — the way German really works.
Each lesson so far has drilled one idea at a time. Real sentences are not so tidy. This set combines what you already know, which is where things tend to fall apart — and therefore where the useful practice is.
Look at what a single ordinary sentence demands:
Ich muss meinen Freund um acht Uhr anrufen.
I have to call my friend at eight o’clock.
modal + possessive accusative + um + separable infinitive
Ich gehe in die Küche, weil ich Kaffee machen will.
I am going into the kitchen because I want to make coffee.
direction accusative + weil + modal at the end
Meine Frau arbeitet heute länger als ich.
My wife is working longer than me today.
possessive + comparative + als
Ich bin bei meinen Eltern, aber ich fahre später nach Hause.
I am at my parents’ place, but I am driving home later.
dative location + aber + direction
When a sentence feels hard, name the pieces: what is the verb, where must it sit, and which case does each preposition demand?
If one of these keeps going wrong, the app will notice and send you back to the lesson it came from. That is what this set is for.
