Everything, in situations
Phase 1 and Phase 2 together, with A1 and A2 grammar carrying the weight underneath.
No new grammar at all. What is being practised here is retrieval: picking the right structure quickly, without being told which lesson you are in.
Story → sequencing + nachdem. Argument → Meinung + Vorteil/Nachteil + obwohl/trotzdem. Conversation → dass / ob / bitten … zu. Formal problem → register + indirect request. Description → relative clause + participle.
One habit is worth more than any single structure: vary what stands in position 1. Leider, Obwohl, Deshalb, Nachdem, Je … — each one moves the verb and makes the writing sound like German rather than translated English.
Nachdem ich dreimal angerufen hatte, habe ich geschrieben.
a clause in position 1
Leider wurde mir bis heute nicht geantwortet.
an adverb in position 1, with a passive
Je länger ich warte, desto teurer wird die Reparatur.
a proportional frame
Reaching for the structure you practised most recently.Asking what the situation needs: a reason, a concession, a consequence or a request.
That question has a different answer each time, which is exactly what this unit trains.
